FAA Saves $15M by Switching to Linux

With the FAA clamouring for more funds, perhaps at the expense of us GA pilots in the shape of user fees, its nice to see them saving a bit of money. Even better to see them doing it by ditching Windows. You can check out the press release for more details if you really want.

Your Pilot In Command

I got my private pilot certificate in Feb 2002, and my instrument rating exaclty one year later in 2003. I fly out of Montgomery Field, San Diego, renting Cessna 172s, 182s, and Piper Archers from PlusOneFlyers. I also have high performance and complex endorsements.

Currently, I have approximately 285 hours of PIC time, including 375 landings, and a monster 7 hours of actual instrument time. March 2008
